Case Studies
Based in the North of England, a Road Haulier receives an EDI file daily from a leading UK supermarket chain. This is integrated into our ROADFREIGHT package, allowing 28 articulated trailers to distribute dry goods daily across the UK..
A Road Haulage Company with about 16 vans receiving over a 1500 parcels every other day from Europe. Details are sent as an EDI message and taken into ROADFREIGHT as a goods expected file, receipt is confirmed using a bar code scanner, and the expected file is then converted to real stock.
The goods are sorted manually into rounds along with other goods and are given a barcode label from the RF system. These consolidated parcels are then re scanned and a manifest is created, sent to a hand held PDA /scanner.
The driver obtains an electronic signature on the PDA and upon return to the depot, downloads into RF the POD%s, which allows automated invoicing. Clients log onto the web site, places orders for delivery, which automatically produces Bar code labels, these are then put on boxes when delivered into depot or collected. No problem printing Labels on site with the correct equipment.
A Road Haulier in the South West of England acts as the West Country Cargo Depot for London based Airlines. Goods are collected, delivered or received and charged using an Automated Charging Matrix, adjusted for each client. The consolidated Cargo to and from London Airports is charged per kilo to the Airline.
A Midlands based road haulage company delivers goods across Europe using a charge matrix, tuned to each client or applying charges for full Loads for Sprinter vans city to city. Most vans are supplied by third party hauliers, all haulage costs are printed each month for each third party as an accrual report, effectively self billing, saving a lot of time for all.
one of the Uks largest newsprint distripution companies uses ROADFREIGHT to manage teh daily runs of almost 90 Vehicles , from smaller vans To Artics all controlled on repeated, daily schedules.
Pallet Network
This Logistical Software total, or part solution, answers the needs of members of UK and European Pallet networks by providing Web Based Quotation and Booking, Automated Invoicing, and Upload and Download of data to a Pallet Network central hub. All, or some, of the three core modules can be provided as required. This total solution has been made possible because of the inherent reliability, sophistication, and ease of use of the ROADFREIGHT road haulage system and our many years experience in Web applications and Data transfer.
The ROADFREIGHT system, loaded with the Pallet Network rates, plus members profit, including service surcharges and volume discounts allows for automated production of invoices, including offering differing rates for selected clients, based upon the core rate sheets, plus or minus of individual Pallet Zone charges adding service surcharges and volume discounts appropriate for each customer. These rates A, B, C, or whatever, are applied to the RF address book as well as, the automatically added, variable to each customer, Fuel Surcharges, if required.
A utility is provided which automatically adds the Zones 1 to ?? (as defined) National or European Post Code relationship to the RF address book. New address’s are quickly converted “on the Job”
These rates and Postcode to Zone relationship can be printed as a very pretty report, including a map of Great Britain and or Europe, replicating and enhancing your present rate sheets and minimising the need for third party graphic design.
This utility facilitates automated costing, for selected pallet jobs, to be applied to every consignment, printed on a consolidated invoice, for whatever period selected. This automated pallet charging facility does not impede the use of RF as a regular Road Haulage System. Automated/ weight measure, and manual charges for non UK or European Pallets jobs can be included in the same consolidated invoices produced daily, weekly or monthly as required.
Sales and purchase invoices are transferred to Sage or any other accounting package that includes the facility of automated invoice transfer.
Quoteandbook, on line, allows for known and unknown customers to log on using either, an id and password generated by RF, or, by an e-mail address log in, to quickly produce a quotation or immediate booking. The rates applied on line automatically mirror the RF charges, avoiding duel rate administration and subsequent errors. Quotations can be printed, e-mailed or saved on line for later job generation.
Consignment notes and Bar-coded labels, bearing pre assigned Pallet Network references are printed locally by the customer ready for collection by the local member.
Bookings made are downloaded into the RF system on a regular basis and job status updates, transferred on line, in exchange.
Each member decides which of these pallet deliveries should be uploaded to the Pallet Network or retained for their own control and delivery.
Once logged on to a Pallet Network collections from the central hub can be down loaded and job files created for the next days “local “deliveries.
POD’s are received and loaded onto the RF system and if required, uploaded to Quoteandbook during the next transmission.
All jobs created within the ROADFREIGHT system are given a job prefix identifying the type and origin of the job enabling accurate reporting of profitability of every service provided.
If available from the network ROADFREIGHT receives a charge file from the Network, downloaded into RF saving even more time and money on job administration and reporting.
